modern curls

how stunning do these two look? soft beachy unfussy curls are my favorite, my specialty, and my pick for my own hair. the secret is a really, really good curling iron. then curl from the top down (rather than rolling up, wrap the hair around the barrel) away from the face. gorgeous.

Yeah, what kind of curling iron? Or, I guess more specifically, what's the difference in a $30 curling iron from Target and one of the $100 from Sephora? I know there's a difference in blowdryers (I just bought a nicer one and I LOVE it) but I want to know more about curling irons. And AWESOME blog. I've read your sister's for a while (and totally covet your hair BTW) so it's GREAT to get to read all your thoughts about hair. YAY!!!!

you are a hair goddess. even though I'm a Mom and get to spend roughly 35 seconds on myself, I'm still a big fan.

Can't wait to see your post of favorites- hairdryers, curling irons, flat irons... let me know!!

coco..love the new blog..is there somewhere we could look to see how to wrap the hair around the curling iron? Does it take you long to curl your hair?? It's so beautiful!!1

robin- i have really thick hair and it only takes me about 5-20 mins to curl (depending on the desired look). the great part about it is, it's a messy/casual style, so you can't go wrong. Not only do you not have to spend the time to make it look "just so", it's not supposed to look just so. I sleep on my hair wet and unbrushed and then put some curls in in the morning. I'll have to brainstorm about some way to show how to wrap the hair. my sis- in -law always calls me for help about that too, too funny. the key is practice!
